Africa Beaches Praslin (Seychelles)

. Saturday, April 2, 2011

The beaches on the Island of Praslin are fabulous, with sculptural granite rocks, coral reefs and lush green vegetation, which make this place be the most visited one in Seychelles.
Its 38 square kilometres gather two large villages: Baie St Anne in the east and Grand Anse in the south. Even here, the lifestyle is relaxed and it is advisable to hire bicycles if you want to see the place around without disturbing the harmony of the place and to freely enjoy the marvels of this natural scenery, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Among the different beaches of the island, Anse Lazio stands out, a marvellous spot which deserves to be among the best beaches in the world.

There are many hotels and resorts which offer high standards of comfort in total agreement with the natural environment on the island, but accommodation is dear.

You cannot miss visiting Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve, to appreciate the rare bird species and the famous palm trees Coco de Mer, which give the biggest nut in the world.
You should also visit the black pearls farm and see these jewels which are unique in the Indian Ocean.
And of course, the main activity here is sunbathing on any of the many beautiful beaches you can find on the island.

The only way of getting here is by catamaran from Mahé, where several international flights arrive.

In Praslin the hot weather is stable all the year round, and the temperature of the water is always pleasant.
